Chemicals industry

The chemical industry is considered one of the key industries as it transforms crude oil into other usable products, which can serve as basic materials for many other industries. The chemicals industry provides other industries with the required chemicals for the production of more than 70,000 products. This is achieved through the transformation of raw materials into the required ones. The petrochemical units of refineries are part of the chemicals industry and convert crude oil into materials such as fuel, solvents, resin, and more. The chemicals industry is one of Iran’s export privileges, and AKT Holding has been working in it as one of its professional domains. Plastics and polymers, especially polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene, and polycarbonate, make up to 80% of the chemicals industry’s production. Chemicals are used in the production of many commodities and in many other areas, such as agriculture, construction, and industrial services. Most of the industrial customers are producers of plastic and rubber products, textiles, oil refinement, paper, pulp, and basic metals.

Hydrogen chloride

Iran has 40 years of experience in the petrochemical industry and is the second-largest exporter of petrochemicals in the Middle East. Hydrochloric acid is a colorless transparent solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl) that is soluble in water and is considered a mineral and inorganic acid with strong corrosive characteristics. It is used in many industrial applications, including refining of metals, organic or inorganic compound production, pH control, and neutralization of ion exchangers. The product is supplied in polyethylene tanks.

Sodium hydroxide

Sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda, is a white solid substance with the chemical formula NaOH. It is obtained through the process of electrolysis of sodium chloride and is soluble in electrolytic containers. As a strong base, it is considered one of the most important industrial chemicals and a strong absorbent of moisture.
Caustic soda flakes are widely used in various industries such as the dyeing industry, production of cardboard and paper, leather and textile, oil and gas, petrochemical, oil wells, food industry, and more. The final product of caustic soda can be packed in two layers of polyethylene and polypropylene bags with a net weight of 25 kg.
